Organizations
Users are grouped within an Organization. An Organization generally corresponds to a company, and can be further divided into Teams.
Roles
Within Astry, users can have one of the following 3 profiles:
- Owner: the Owner can administer the Astry tool for the entire Organization. In particular, they can invite users to join their Organization on Astry, change their role, remove a user, enable or disable an integration, and enable or disable the Enterprise Plan subscription. In addition, they have the same rights as a Responder.
- Responder: the Responder can open, acknowledge, and resolve incidents. They can also comment on an incident, track its progress, and be part of a team's on-call schedule. In addition, they have the same rights as a Stakeholder.
- Stakeholder: the Stakeholder has read-only access to incidents, reporting, and invoices related to the Enterprise Plan subscription, if applicable.
An Organization can have several Owners (this is even recommended), and of course several Responders and Stakeholders.
Note: Roles define access rights to Astry. They are distinct from positions, which represent the business functions of members within their teams.
Member management
Organization members are managed from the main Organization tab, then Members. This page lists the members, with their role, their status (Verified or Not verified) and their teams. Owners can:
- invite a user by email, choosing their role. If Enterprise SSO is configured, they can specify that the user will authenticate through SSO.
- re-invite a user who has not yet joined the organization
- remove a member (they must first have been removed from their teams and from the escalation policies targeting them)
Each member can also leave the organization: their account is then deleted.
Two additional options, in beta, can be enabled on request from support:
- invitation by link: instead of an email, the Owner generates a single-use invitation link, valid for 7 days, which they share however they like
- phone number at sign-up: Owners can ask newly invited members to enter and verify their phone number (optionally or mandatorily). This number is then automatically added to their notification channels.
Member page
By clicking on a member, you open their detail page: join date, teams (with their positions and on-call participation), notification policies, permissions, and recent activity (latest actions performed on incidents and crises, comments, notifications received, ...).
Access control
The Access Control page (main Organization tab) lets Owners manage members' rights in detail:
- Members & Roles: change the role of any member of the organization (a user cannot change their own role)
- Role Permissions: the matrix of permissions associated with each role, grouped by area (incidents, human resources, teams, monitors, dashboards, vault, settings). The Owner role always has all permissions.
- Individual Grants: grant specific users additional permissions, on top of those of their role
User profile
Each user can manage their profile from their avatar menu:
- Login: the email addresses linked to the profile, and the one used to sign in
- Personal information: first and last name
- Timezone
- Consents: the history of consents given (terms of use, service contract, SMS and call notifications)
- Sponsorship: a personalized sponsorship link to share, and tracking of sponsored organizations
The Astry interface is available in French, English and Spanish (language selector in the top bar), in light or dark mode.
