Vercel is a hosting platform for websites and APIs. The Vercel integration connects your Vercel account to Astry: your projects' logs are then forwarded to Astry (through Vercel Log Drains), which automatically raises incidents when errors occur.
Note: This integration requires a Vercel Pro account (or higher).
Configuration
The integration is configured from the main Organization tab, then Incoming Integrations and Vercel. It must first be enabled by an Owner.
- Connect Vercel: click Continue to Vercel. You are redirected to Vercel, where you sign in, select the team whose projects you want to retrieve, choose All Projects, then click Connect Account. Your Vercel credentials are never entered in Astry: the authorization is granted directly on the Vercel website.
- Select the projects: back in Astry, tick the Vercel projects to monitor, then click Save configuration. This is the action that installs the Log Drains on the selected projects.
You can change the project selection at any time: the Log Drains configuration is then updated accordingly.
When does a log create an incident?
A log is only processed if it is considered actionable, meaning it meets at least one of the following conditions:
- error-level log
- HTTP 5xx response
- standard error output (stderr)
- failed deployment
Info or warn level logs, HTTP 4xx responses, etc. do not create incidents.
Testing the integration
The integration page offers a tutorial to check that everything works: deploy a minimal Express project on Vercel, tick it in the project list, then call its /crash route. A few seconds later, a new incident containing the error message should appear in your Inbox.
